More about these Artists

Review:

Where there is a TJ, there is a will, and damn his music makes me sway. This man is pure genius.

For the last year or so I have been addicted to the the drum and base sounds of New Breed UK; thus, at first this album wasn't all that exciting. It lacks the jungle/drum&base sounds that we all have grown to love from the UK artists like Badmarh, Mo Magic etc. But, where it lacks in convention, it makes up (and then some more) in originality. This album is truly hard to characterize, and I am not going to try do that either. It has drum&base influences, house influences, (at times) cheesy indian filmy music influences and that pure TJ sound influences. Ravi Bal's presence adds the north indian punjabi shabadh sounds to SCRATCHING?!!?! Who would have thunk of that one. This album is definilty for the open minded. Thus, genre lovers need not apply. Harmoniums, sitars, trumpets and guitars for everyone. Moneywise the album was kinda small for $22, only 41 mins long....but it was atleast 30 mins of pure listening pleasure. So I think it was worth it, if it had cost me $15 that is ;-)
